Pultruded carbon rod offers extreamly high strength and stiffness. They have a uni directional fiber orientation. Meaning the fibers run along the length of the tube.

This gives the best 'bend strength' possible (if you try to snap it in half over your knee), However it does leave it vunerable to forces in other planes, such as crushing force if you were to stand on a rod that was laying on the ground.

Select the diameter and length of tube reqired using the option boxes, the price will automatically update with each selection. The tube diameter is shown as OD/ID this means the first figure is the outside diameter of the tube in mm. The second figure is the inner diameter (or the hole diameter of the tube) also in mm.

Note:

Whilst adding weight, additional strength may be added if you were to bond a carbon sleeve over the top of the pultruded tube. This would prevent the unidirectional fibers of the pultruded tube from being able to separate whilst under load, giving an even stronger more durable tube. In this situation, the smallest diameter sleeve posible would be best, as increasing the diameter of a sleeve gives better 'hoop' strength, which is what the pultruded tube is missing.
